There is no excuse anymore to be bored while doing your laundry. PALS - A laundromat, pizza parlor and arcade - recently opened on Laurel Street. PALS stands for Pizza, Arcade, Laundry and Subs.

30 years ago (1978)

Brainerd salutes Labor Day.Its the men and women who make up our work forces that set the wheels of America in motion.

40 years ago (1968)

An appreciation certificate for her outstanding work as Heart Fund chairman in the city of Brainerd was presented to Mrs. Thomas Kotula. Mrs. Kotula, assisted by 111 volunteers, raised $1,105.12 in the Brainerd heart fund drive.

60 years ago (1948)

Labor Day specials:

Frying chickens, 59 pound.

T-Bone steaks, 79 pound.

80 years ago (1928)

Nine miles of snow fencing will be delivered to Brainerd within a few days to protect township and county roads from snow drifting. The fencing costs approximately seven cents a running foot with posts figured at 35 each.
