When children don't want to go to school
As summer turns to fall, so does summer vacation turn to school season for our school-age children and their families. For many there is much excitement. New school clothes, school supplies, reuniting with old friends, new teachers and learning!

Mentors sought
Currently 152 children are being mentored by a caring adult through the Kinship Partners program. We normally have around 50 kids on the waiting list and there are many more kids that need a mentor but are not enrolled in the program because of the wait. It is a heart wrenching situation for the Kinship Partners staff when we do intake interviews for new kids in our mentoring program, because in a childs mind they think that they will have a mentor the next day.

Sound off to your U.S. senators
Sen. Norm Coleman

OUR OPINION: SEN. CRAIG
In the grand scheme of things, Sen. Larry Craig's sexual preference is of little importance to the Republic. He can be strongly criticized for his lack of candor and for a public defense that strains credibility but his guilty plea for disorderly conduct at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport doesn't strike us as reason for an immediate ouster from the U.S. Senate.
