Little Falls beats Apollo in area volleyball competition

ST. CLOUD -- The Little Falls Flyers volleyball team defeated the Apollo Eagles 15-11, 15-12, 13-15, 15-8 Thursday in Central Lakes Conference play.

Flyer Jenny Oldakowski was 23-23 serving with five kills. Rachel Davich was 35-37 setting with eight set assists and four kills.

"This was a well played game, the players all did extremely well," said Flyers' coach Kevin Hoskins. "This was a big win for us."

PIERZ --The Pierz Pioneers defeated the Crosby-Ironton Rangers 15-0, 15-6, 15-6 in a non-conference volleyball match Thursday.

Tracy Bell was 10-12 serving with two ace serves and eight set assists for the Pioneers and teammate Kelly Gruber was 19-20 serving with five ace serves for Pierz.

"We are such a young squad and we had a point to prove after our play on Tuesday night." said Pioneer head coach Sheryl Wesenberg. "We played with more confidence and desire in this match and were a much more relaxed team."
