ONAMIA -- Quarterback Chase Nelson rushed for one touchdown and passed for another as the Pequot Lakes Patriots football team shut down the Onamia Panthers 53-0 Thursday.
The Patriots scored six touchdowns in the first half and added two more in the second. Kicker Michael Jacobs booted five extra points.
Pequot Lakes coach Tom Smith cited the play of linebacker Jeremiah Duvall, who made five solo and 18 tackles.
"It was a hard-fought defensive game with a great first half," said Smith.
