In his latest adventure to raise funds for Kinship Partners, Gary Walters and his son, Jackson, are Rollerblading to Washington, D.C.
Check out his progress through Saturday: A rough day starting off because of thunderstorms that swept through the area the night before but as the day progressed roads and trails dried off and skating became easier, capped off by a ride through Amish country.
Miles traveled: 49 miles.
Total miles traveled: 802 miles.
Daily destination reached: West of Canton, Ohio.
Mile musings: In Amish country they had a main trail. On one side it was a standard paved bike trail, and the other side was a paved trail for horse and buggy. It was quite fun to share the system with horse and buggy. We had never done that type of thing before. I don't think the horses cared about us, but we did see several Amish look good and hard at our Rollerblades.'
