DEERWOOD -- Frank A. Avelsgard, 82, Deerwood, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.
He was born June 3, 1923, in Brainerd to Martin and Ruth (Bunker) Avelsgard. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Cuyuna Range Masonic Lodge, and a life member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post No. 557 of Deerwood. He was a retired U.S. postal worker with 16 years of service in the Deerwood area.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie; five children; five grandchildren; and one sister.
A Masonic graveside service will be Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Deerwood Scandia Cemetery in Deerwood Township. Arrangements are with Koop Funeral Home of Crosby.
