BELLE PLAINE -- The Sobieski Skis are one of four teams in the winners' bracket of the Class C amateur baseball state tournament following two weekend victories.
On Saturday, the Skis nipped Pipestone 3-2 and followed with a 1-0, 11-inning thriller over Granite Falls.

Jason King pitched all 11 innings and Jon Czech singled home the winning run in the top of the 11th.
King gave up four hits, walked three and struck out 12.
Joe Thoma singled to lead off the Sobieski 11th. Nate Olson dropped down a sacrifice bunt and Czech singled home the run.
In the bottom of the 11th, Granite Falls left runners at first and third.
Olson finished 2-for-4 and Jon Czech 2-4.

Sobieski 3, Pipestone 2
The Skis' Joe Thoma led off the game with a home run.
Sobieski added two unearned runs in the fourth. Pipestone scored twice in the top of the eighth but fell a run short.
King finished 2-4 and Jeff Thoma 2-3.
Winning pitcher Simon Waltman went seven innings. He gave up four hits and two earned runs, walked three and struck out five. Scott Geiger pitched the last two innings, walking one and striking out two.
