Blues festival set this weekend at park near Park Rapids

PARK RAPIDS -- The first Park Rapids Blues Festival will get under way Saturday and Sunday at Silver Star Festival Park, featuring a lineup of regional and local blues groups.

Admission is $10 per day for adults, $5 per day for children. The gates open each day at 3 p.m. and will wrap up at about midnight.

Silver Star Festival Park is two miles east of Park Rapids on Highway 34.

Saturday's lineup includes headliner Warped Melon Blues Band from the Fargo area, while Sunday's headliner is The Keller Brothers, a Fargo-to-Twin Cities group.

The headliners open on the outdoor stage at about 9 p.m. each day. The festival's lineup also includes Lee Bone, an acoustic blues performer from Backus, and the Phantoms, with Jim Hankemeyer of Pequot Lakes.
