MOTLEY - The Motley Area Historical Society will be holding its monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Motley City Hall Complex. The agenda will include plans for the upcoming tour of the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul and the Minnesota State Capitol on Sept. 30.

Brainerd Chapter of IAAP
BAXTER - The Brainerd Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) will meet on the second Wednesday of each month beginning Sept. 10. Meetings will be held in the conference room at LarsonAllen in Baxter from 5-6:30 p.m. The September program will be "What is IAAP?" GriefShare support group beginning
BAXTER - GriefShare Support group will begin a new series at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at Lakewood Ev. Free Church, Baxter. GriefShare is a 13-week series that will end Dec. 9. Cost is $15. The DVD seminar features well-known authors and counselors for those who are grieving the death of a loved one. After the presentation we discuss the DVD and share our own stories. A workbook is provided for further study.

Good Samaritan Auxiliary meeting
Good Samaritan Society-Bethany, 804 Wright Street, Brainerd, will meet 10 a.m. Thursday in the classroom. Bonnie Magnan, dietary manager, will be the guest speaker. We will also be discussing the upcoming pie social. The gift shop meeting will meet just prior to the Auxiliary meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the classroom.
The meeting for the Rollin' Rangers will be at Legionville Sept. 4-7.
The Friday dinner at the VFW Club in Brainerd will be Past Commander Dan, Mary and crew serving a pork chop dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Friday. Cost: $8.
Ray's Promenaders Square Dance club will dance at 7:30 p.m. for plus and 8-10 p.m. mainstream Friday at the Franklin Art Center cafeteria. Jim Jirak will be the caller. Bob and Norma Hall will be hosting shorts night.

Safe Driving program planned
The AARP Safe Driving Program, formerly known as the 55 Alive, will have class from 1-5 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Good Samaritan-Woodland in the 200 building. Cost is $10.
