Crosslake reconvenes public hearing Sept. 8

CROSSLAKE - The Crosslake City Council will reconvene a public hearing at 7 p.m. Sept. 8 in city hall.

The council is expected to discuss a property owner petition by John J. and Mary C. Dierbeck requesting the vacation of a road easement extending from the end of the paved section of Milinda Shores Road about 33 feet by 285 feet in area. All persons as desire to comment on the proposed partial road easement vacation will be heard.

Olson to moderate Healthy Lakes' forum Sept. 10 in Walker

WALKER - Sen. Mary Olson, DFL-Bemidji, will moderate a "Healthy Lakes" legislative forum from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at Northern Lights Casino in Walker.

Olson said the event was organized by area lake and watershed volunteers, headed by Watershed Alliance Chair Ron Meyer. It is hosted by the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Minnesota Waters will serve as co-sponsor of the event.

Lake associations will present information on invasive species, lake management plans, shoreland management and water quality.
