STAPLES - Students were evacuated from Central Lakes College, Staples Campus, Thursday morning in what turned out to be a false fire alarm.
Staples Fire Chief Scott Braith said firefighters were called to the college campus about 11:30 a.m. Thursday because the fire alarm system's low water sensor had detected the college was losing water pressure rapidly.
Braith said it turned out the city of Staples was flushing its fire hydrants, including a hydrant close to CLC, and no one had been notified.
