Warriors open with victory

BEMIDJI - Jessica Reese won two individual events and was on two first-place relays as the Brainerd Warriors opened the girls' swimming and diving season Tuesday with an 111-75 victory over the Bemidji Lumberjacks.

Reese won the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. She teamed with Sadie Panzer, Jodi Larson and Destiney Schindele to win the 200 medley relay and with Christie Nelson, Larson and Sarah Dens to win the 200 free relay.

Other individual wins were by Dens in the 200 free, Larson in the 50 free, Samantha Smith in diving and Ronia Gramer in the 100 backstroke.

"I thought Sarah Dens had a really nice meet, winning the 200 free," Warriors coach Dan Anderson said. "Destiney Schindele had two second places. And for Samantha Smith, it was a good place for her to start in the 170-point range.
