Some details of a two-vehicle accident were reported incorrectly on Page 5A Friday.
The two-vehicle head-on accident was reported at 11:15 p.m. Aug. 21 on Crow Wing County Road 23, three miles south of Highway 18, east of Brainerd, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department.
One driver, Jeffrey McCarthy, 36, Brainerd, suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where today he was reported in fair condition.
The other driver, a 52-year-old Brainerd man, was injured but not hospitalized. He was arrested for DUI. A passenger in his vehicle, Priscilla Peterson, 51, was not injured.
According to the sheriff's department, McCarthy was northbound on County Road 23 when he swerved into the 52-year-old's southbound lane, hitting him head-on.
The Brainerd Fire Department assisted at the scene as one of the vehicles caught fire.
