A stolen .22 automatic pistol was returned to King's Sporting Goods with this note: "I stole this gun but have no use for it. It has only been fired a few times. There is a screw on the side which should be checked." It was signed: "Thoughtfully yours, The Thief."

Two bandits robbed the Farmers State Bank of Pequot of $9,000 and locked five people in the vault, then escaped in a waiting Hupmobile Eight driven by a third accomplice. Sheriff Claus Theorin heads the manhunt, scouring the woods north of Brainerd.

Gussie Small returned last night from bringing his launch down through Sibley, Mayo and Gull Lakes. They found considerable difficulty navigating Mayo Brook, the water having dropped 12 inches in a few days. The steering gear broke in the Gull River.
