The Community Action director said today that Monday night's concert in Gregory park was the best thing that's happened there in years. The Lakeland Senior band, two senior citizen's musical groups, played from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Twenty-five area students graduated from an extensive 40-hour course on small engine mechanics given at the Brainerd Area Vocational Technical Institute.

Nearly seven inches of rain has fallen in Brainerd during the month of August. This is nearly twice as much as normal rainfall for the month.
