STAPLES -- Roy H. Seideman, 79, rural Staples, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at St. Cloud Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 23, 1921, in Charles Mix County, S.D., to Charles and Laura (Krumrey) Seideman. He married Caroline Lee Gritz on June 18, 1966, in Staples. He served in the Army from 1945 to 1946. He farmed and worked for Green Thumb. He was president of the Farmers Union and a 4-H leader.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gregory Gritz, Pine City, Gordon Gritz, Waverly, and Warren Seideman, Staples; a daughter, Darla Jacobson, Ortonville; six grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Seideman, Illinois; and three sisters, Garnet Prebt and Myrtle Bachmeier, both of North Dakota, and Anna Mae Taylor, Nevada.
Two brothers and two sisters died earlier.
Services were Sunday at Staples Alliance Church with the Rev. Jonathan Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley.
Arrangements were with Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena.
