Bremer tops Ocelco, regains lead

Bremer Bank needed all of its 32.5-11.5 victory over Ocelco Inc. Aug. 20 to regain the men's league lead at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's.

That's because Halverson Law Office defeated Von Hanson's Meats 30.5-13.5 to make it a two-team race down the stretch. Three weeks remain until a champion is crowned.

Thelen Heating remains in third despite falling 28.5-15.5 to Riverwood Bank.

Legacy women

Kelly Gorvin scored a closest to the pin proximity and shot the low round of the day Aug. 18 on the Dutch front nine during the Legacy Courses at Cragun's women's night.

Elaine Klinger had the low putts with 14 and Kay Gunnarson sank the longest putt.

On the Par 3 Course, Molly Gerber shot 34 for the low round. Tricia Jasmer and Erin Books had low putts. Edythe Ferrian made the longest putt, while Tina Bradford was closest to the hole.

Breezy Point men

Thomas & Associates Law took a 7.5-4.5 bite out of Park Midway Bank, but it wasn't enough to see Park fall from atop the men's Twilight League standings Aug. 20 at Breezy Point Resort.

Park Midway still holds a 3.5-point lead over Dick Parks Gas, which defeated Commander/JJ's 7-5, heading into Thursday's position night.

GVL results

JoEllen Einerwold, Jerry Ward, Renee Rivard and Dan Reeck needed a scorecard playoff to win the Aug. 18 Coed Outing at Grand View Lodge's The Pines.

Second place went to Kurt and Jenny Muesing, Candace Prigge and Byrne Hildebrand.

Three teams tied for third with a 35. They were Donna and Tom Motzko and Cindy and Reggie Clow; Melanie Galligher, Dave Karr, Naomi Jobes and Shari Burns and Kari Dayton, Ellie Balsimo, Brad Erickson and Murph Loisel.

Kurt Muesing had the longest putt and Candace Prigge and Reggie Clow were closest to the pin.

The next Coed Outing will be 5 p.m. Sept. 15 at Deacon's Lodge.

Madden's results

Flossie Ahles, Maureen Durand, Teri Neuman and Cathy Ross won the four-person scramble event Aug. 18 during the final women's league at Madden's Pine Beach East.

Gary Hanson and Mike Courts captured the two-man alternate shot event Aug. 20 during men's league at Madden's Pine Beach West.

Thursday is the final night of men's league at Madden's. Tee times are at 5:30 p.m. on the East Course. Their will be hole events on each hole.

Whitefish women

Barb Hanson shot a two-round 168 to claim the championship flight gross title Aug. 18-19 during the Whitefish women's 18-hole league club championship.

Janice DuBois was second with a 181. Low net went to Maxine Riches and Helen McGrath.

Myra Faust and Barb Holubar shot 184 and 186, respectively, to claim gross honors in the first flight. Linda Randall was the third low gross, while Marguerite Baker was low net.

In the second flight, Mary Kay Kendall shot 193 for first place in gross followed by Joan Kantos and Diane Giefer in third. Nancy Einan was low net.

Sharon Keister was low gross in the third flight followed by Mary Boeder and Barb DeLaHunt. Mary Ann Erickson was low net.

During the first round Faust carded two birdies with Hanson, DuBois and Einan scoring one each.

Holubar, Helen McGrath and Hanson carded birdies during round two.

Next league play will be Wednesday with the monthly meeting and luncheon following.
