LITTLE FALLS - A community notification meeting about a Level 3 predatory offender who has moved into Morrison County is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 3 in Meeting Room 1 at the Morrison County Government Center.
The offender, Charles Dennis Josephson, 35, was released from prison in August of 2008 and has lived in Motley. The meeting is being necessitated because Josephson is moving into a residence on the 9800 block of 130th Avenue in Swan River Township southwest of Little Falls.
Josephson has a history of sexual contact with juvenile girls, ages 11 and 14, according to offender information from the Minnesota Department of Corrections. Johnson knew his victims.
The community notification meeting will provide information to concerned residents about who the offender is, what local residents can and cannot do, and provide a venue for residents to ask questions concerning the offender, Sheriff Michel Wetzel said in a news release.

Minnesota law requires that community notification meetings occur when a Level 3 predatory offender moves into a local jurisdiction. While the law does not prevent these people from moving or living in any particular area, it does allow local residents to be aware of it so they can take steps to safeguard themselves.
The meeting will consist of a presentation by the Minnesota Department of Corrections with ample time for questions either to corrections officials or members of the sheriff's office.
