Formerly known as the Great Northern BBQ, Street Fest on Seventh will be noon to 12 a.m. Saturday at Seventh and Laurel Streets in downtown Brainerd with activities for all ages.
The soundtrack to this event will start at noon with eating contests, cooking demonstrations and vendors. Live music starts in the afternoon and goes until 12 a.m. with headliner Loose Cannon.
Those who attend the event and have worked up an appetite may stick around for the Cub Foods Rib Fest from 7 p.m. until gone. Cost is $15 for all you can judge ribs and two beverage tickets. Local backyard barbecue teams will be competing with awards given near the conclusion. Local pro Mike Jay will give cooking classes .
All proceeds from the Street Fest will be donated to Kinship Partners.
Sponsors include Cub Foods, C&L Distributing, Unity Bank, Brainerd Dispatch, Grand Casino and the Brainerd Jaycees.
Checks and exhibits to be picked up
Exhibitors at the Crow Wing County Fair who have not picked up their exhibits or premium checks can do so Monday through Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the administration office. Call 829-6680 if you need other arrangements.
