MISSION TOWNSHIP - Fire destroyed a camper at a cabin on Horseshoe Lake Monday afternoon but Mission Township firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading to the woods or nearby structures.
Mission firefighters were paged to the fire on the 20000 block of East Horseshoe Lake Road about 5 p.m. Monday. The property is owned by Bruce and Genelle Lonnes of Roseville.
Assistant Fire Chief Randy Roach said the camper was fully involved when he arrived and the fire had spread into the surrounding grass.

"It was burning right up to the cabin," Roach said. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters quickly put out the fire in the grass and camper, then focused their attention on a nearby wood pile that was burning. A charred frame and twisted metal supports were all that remained of the camper.
Roach said the cause of the fire appeared to be electrical but remained under investigation Monday afternoon.
