CAMP RIPLEY -- A Camp Ripley-based unit will return home Friday after serving for about nine months in Kuwait. The soldiers, members of Company A, 434th Main Support Battalion, were serving as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
First Lt. Shannon M. Purvis of the Minnesota Army National Guard said the group of about 150 soldiers assisted other soldiers with supplies, and in-processing and out-processing transition. Purvis said the majority of the soldiers are from the Little Falls and surrounding areas.
A Minnesota Army National Guard news release stated the returning soldiers, their families and the unit have requested there not be any media present when they return on Friday.
