Jeffery Volkl, the 9-year-old Pillager boy who was hit by a truck while he was riding his bike Monday, remained in critical condition Thursday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Volkl was riding his bike on Wilderness Drive three miles east of Pillager when he collided with the truck driven Charles J. Wulff, 16, Pillager. Wulff was not injured.
Cass County Sheriff Randy Fisher said the collision happened near Volkl's driveway on Wilderness Drive. Fisher said how the collision occurred is being investigated by the sheriff's department and the State Patrol. Wulff was a licensed driver, he said.
