Gordon S. Loney, 87, of Brainerd, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1917, in Deering, N.D., to Tinus and Nora Marie (Severson) Loney. He married Rosella Binek on April 30, 1941, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd. He was a motion picture projectionist for 45 years. He was a past president of the motion picture projectionists' union, a charter member of Brainerd Snodeos and a member of the MN Deer Hunters' Association. He loved gardening and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosella; his three sons, Corey Loney, of Merrifield, Bruce Loney, of Ham Lake, Minn., and Brian Loney, of Brainerd; his daughter, Teala VanDuzer, of Golden, Colo.; his sister, Yvonne Paulson, of Brainerd; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Melford Loney.
Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd with Pastor David Holte officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
