AITKIN -- Carol Dudley, age 71, of Aitkin, died on Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born Dec. 22, 1931, in Minneapolis to Joseph and Harriet (Knouse) Chelmo. She attended Jordan Schools in Minneapolis and worked for more than 30 years for Honeywell. She married Jerome Dudley on Jan. 21, 1950, in Minneapolis. They moved from Minneapolis to Cedarbrook where they raised turkeys. She is survived by her husband, Jerome; daughter, Debra (Wayne) Kallstrom; and son, Jerry (Terri) of Blaine; a sister, Delores (Daryl) Anderson of Crosslake; brothers, Jerome Chelmo, Nathan (Anita) Chelmo, and Paul (Lorena) Chelmo, all of Detroit Lakes. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny; grandson Danny Jr.; a sister; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin with the Rev. Dallas Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. and an hour before the services on Wednesday.
