Brainerd man killed in two-vehicle accident

MOTLEY -- A 23-year-old Brainerd man died Saturday in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 10 between Staples and Motley.

Jason Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The accident happened about 2:16 p.m., the State Patrol in Detroit Lakes reported.

Ryan was driving a 1994 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Highway 10 when his rear tire went flat and he attempted to pull to the side of the road, lost control and was hit by a vehicle driven by Bernard Roske, 61, Sauk Rapids.

A passenger on Ryan's motorcycle, Danette Fishman, 18, Motley, was treated at Lakewood Health System in Staples and released. Roske wasn't injured.
