Judge accepts verdict
WALKER -- Cass County Judge Michael J. Haas recently accepted the jury's guilty verdict on three counts filed against Richard James Littlewolf Jr., 18, Walker, and called for a new jury trial to hear six more counts Littlewolf faces.
Littlewolf was found guilty of three counts of drive-by shooting.
The jury was unable to reach a verdict on two counts each of attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault.
Haas called for a new jury to hear testimony and consider a verdict on the additional six counts.
Littlewolf is being held in the Cass County Jail on $40,000 bail. A Sept. 6 pretrial hearing has been set on the pending six counts.
Littlewolf is accused in connection with a Jan. 29 incident at Onigum east of Walker. Shots were fired at a house from a vehicle, then later that date at two men in another vehicle.
The two men suffered shotgun wounds to their faces. One suffered severe eye injuries.
Littlewolf is accused of being a back seat passenger in the vehicle from which the shots were fired.
Rosalind Renee Hunt, 23, St. Louis Park, pleaded guilty in May to drive-by shooting and second-degree assault as the driver of the vehicle.
She is serving consecutive 13- and 21-month prison sentences.
Sentencing for Littlewolf on the drive-by shooting counts has been delayed until a new jury considers the other six counts filed against him.
