Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., will meet with community leaders in Brainerd, Wadena and Camp Ripley on Wednesday.
In Wadena he'll meet with community leaders about the tornado recovery efforts and later present a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to members of VFW Post 3922 for their contributions to those efforts.
His Wadena stop will be from 10:50 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. at the Wadena Community and Technical College at 405 Colfax Ave. SW. Wadena Mayor Wayne Wolden is also expected to attend the meeting.
In Brainerd, Franken will meet with Brainerd Mayor James Wallin and other community leaders for an unemployment roundtable with area business leaders and education representatives from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the Central Lakes College Business and Industry Center, Room E203, Door No. 7.
Franken will also tour Camp Ripley with Col. Eric Ahlness of Minnesota National Guard and Lt. Col. Scott St. Sauver, Camp Ripley commander from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday.
