United Way Chili Cookoff Sept. 22 at Westgate
The Crow Wing County United Way Chili Cook-off will begin at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22 with an awards ceremony slated for 1 p.m. at the Westgate Mall.
Companies, restaurants and individuals may display their prowess at preparing chili and have their wares sampled by more than 1,000 community chili lovers.

The deadline for chili registration is Sept. 8. There is space for 50 booths.
Curb and gutter work set on Oak Street
Curb and gutter construction between 19th Street and 28th Street began Monday on the Oak Street project and should be completed by Thursday. Roadway grading will continue between 28th Street and Highway 25 and should be completed by Friday. Installation of entrance culverts on Highway 25 and Highway 18 will be completed by Friday.
