Little Falls artist Charles Kapsner is offering a pair of three-day workshops in drawing through the Great River Arts Association.

"Drawing with the Masters" is scheduled for Sept. 21-23 and Jan. 11-13 at the Initiative Foundation offices in downtown Little Falls. The fee is $125 for each three-day session, including lunch.

Kapsner is a realist painter trained in Italy, and his artistic contributions include two large frescoes in Lindbergh Elementary School. The workshops are intended for aspiring artists at all levels.

Registration deadline for the first session is Sept. 10. Deadline for the second session is Dec. 30. For more information, contact GRAA at (320) 632-0960.

St. Cloud folk singer Dennis Warner will perform Sunday in the Concerts in the Park series at Maple Island Park in downtown Little Falls, starting at 4 p.m.

Warner, who blends acoustic folk and country music with on-stage humor, has been a featured performer on a variety of National Public Radio broadcasts, according to the Great River Arts Association, event sponsor.

"From small village gatherings in Alaska to huge auditoriums in Florida, Warner has earned a well-deserved reputation for being an outstanding entertainer," GRAA said in a news release. The park concert is free.

The Jaques Art Center in Aitkin is organizing a coach trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art to view the exhibit, Degas & America, on Wednesday.

The coach will leave Aitkin at 8 a.m. and arrive at the institute by 10:30 a.m. The group will be given a guided tour of the Degas exhibit, then break for lunch. At 1 p.m., the group will be free to view the remainder of the institute's collection.

Fees for the trip are $30 for members of the Jaques Art Center and $35 for non-members. Space on the coach is limited. Call (218) 927-2363 for registration.
