LITTLE FALLS -- Daniel F. Doucette, 78-year-old resident of Little Falls, Minn., died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at his home in Little Falls, Minn.
Services will be Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, Minn. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 22, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, Minn., and from 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Parish Prayers will be said at 4:30 p.m. on Monday followed by Christian Mothers Rosary at 5:30 p.m. and KC's Office of the dead at 6:30 p.m.
Daniel F. Doucette was born on May 17, 1927, in Little Falls, Minn., to Edmund and Aurelia (LaForce) Doucette. Daniel graduated from Little Falls Community High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army in 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Dorothy Gibson on June 1, 1949, at Holy Family Church in Belle Prairie. Daniel and Dorothy lived and farmed in Ripley Township until 1978 when they moved to Little Falls. Dan loved woodworking, gardening, fishing and playing cards, but his happiest times were spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Little Falls, Minn.; seven children, Deborah Doucette and companion, Rob Taylor, of Randall, Minn., Beverly Welle and husband, Darrell, of Fort Ripley, Minn., Mark Doucette and wife, Mary, of Little Falls, Minn., Kevin Doucette and wife, Carol, of Fort Ripley, Minn., Mary Bollin and husband, Dan, of Lewisville, Texas, Dana Smieja and husband, Don, of Dassel, Minn., and Leah Posterick and husband, Dennis, of Little Falls, Minn.; two sisters, Virginia Borash of Royalton, Minn., and Joyce Johnson and husband, Bud, of Pillager, Minn.; one brother, Melvin Doucette and wife, Lorraine, of Carlos, Minn.; 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Shane Garretson.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery Fund in Belle Prairie, Minn.
Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, Minn.
