Workmen are now sandblasting paint from the old water tower, preparatory to repainting part of the structure. The first paint job was unsuccessful.

Beautiful weather prevailed Sunday as 14 shooters shot the regular Sunday program at Uncle Tom's Trap Club. Tom Cibuzar, with a 120 x 125 and a 96 percent average, led the field in the 16 yard events.

Mike Hyduke, head football coach of the Brainerd Warriors, is inaugurating a new pre-school football training plan by taking members of the team to Camp Lincoln the week before school starts for pre-season practice and conditioning.
80 years ago (1925)
Brainerd has never entertained a more colorful convention with more good fraternal feeling on all sides than the Elks. The state convention worked its climax with the parade Friday afternoon. Every phase of this was admirably conducted by the General Parade Chairman J. J. Nolan and Parade Marshall William V. Turcotte.
100 years ago (1905)
The Shenango furnace interests have actually and seriously taken hold on the Cuyuna Range. It is probably the most important and significant deal that has yet been made.
