CROSBY -- Helen Justin Anderson, age 81, of Crosby, died on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She was born on Sept. 24, 1922 in Deerwood to Hjalmer and Minda (Vang) Hogstrom. She was a Crosby Ironton High School graduate. She then attended St. Cloud State until she married Earl A. Anderson on Sept. 10, 1942 in Deerwood. She was a member of the Assemblies of Tabernacle in Crosby, involved in their Sunday School and choir. She was a member of the American Bible Society. Besides being a devoted wife and mother, she worked at the Port of Embarkation in San Francisco early in WWII. She was a substitute teacher, a requested soloist and always active in the community. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Sandra Anderson of Wrenshall; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith Schoenrock of Minneapolis, and Janice and Kenneth Nelson of Beaver Bay, Minn.; two sisters, Mabel Soder of Eveleth, Mary Lou (Mrs. Vince) Rocca of Apache Junction, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and two great-granchildren. She is preceded in death by husband Earl in 1984; her parents; three brothers, Herman, Emil and John Hogstrom; and one sister, Jennette Slattum.
