CASS LAKE -- Investigators from the state fire marshal's office have recovered evidence used to start a Cass Lake mobile home fire Tuesday, it was learned today.

One person was killed and three others were injured in the fire.

Cass County Sheriff Randy Fisher said Wednesday the fire is being investigated as arson, and today he reported an accelerant believed to have been used in the fire was found. Fisher wouldn't comment on the specifics of what was found.

No arrests have been made in the fire, Fisher said.

The fire was reported to the Cass Lake Fire Department about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival firefighters found the mobile home, located just north of Cass Lake off of Cass County Road 60, engulfed in flames, Fisher said.

The victim, Faye M. Nelson, 25, Duluth, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nelson was a friend of the owner of the mobile home, Della Jones, 48, Cass Lake, who was spending the night there, said Fisher. An autopsy is scheduled by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.

Della Jones was airlifted to a Duluth hospital. No condition information was available.

Jones' husband, James Jones, 48, and their son, Andrew Jones, 24, both of Cass Lake, were also in the mobile home at the time of the fire though neither was seriously injured, Fisher said.

Also investigating the fire is the Leech Lake Department of Public Safety.
