Nationally known motivational speaker to be in Pequot Lakes

PEQUOT LAKES -- Mark Scharenbroich, a nationally acclaimed motivational speaker, will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Pequot Lakes School auditorium.

The presentation, sponsored by the Pequot Lakes School Board and administration, is for all district employees and is open to community residents and school personnel from surrounding school districts.

Cost is $5 for community residents. The event is free for Pequot Lakes School staff members who have continuing education units available.

Since 1977, Scharenbroich has spoken in more than 2,500 schools, covering every state and every province in Canada. He has been in demand as a keynote speaker for national, state and district-wide educator conferences.

His speech, titled "The Uncommon Educator," reaffirms the impact all educators have on the lives of their students. Scharenbroich teaches educators how their approach to students can turn a common situation into uncommon moments of learning.

Scharenbroich has performed in the film "The Greatest Days of Your Life ... (so far)," which students worldwide have seen. He is also the author of three films, "One of a Kind," "Pathways to Performance" and "T is for Teacher." He was awarded an Emmy for his performance in the ABC television special, "Doing Great."
