Candice Sniatynsky, who suffered an apparent seizure while being arrested July 4 in Crosby and later died at a Twin Cities hospital, died of natural causes, the Hennepin County medical examiner's office reported Thursday.

Sniatynsky, 38, Aitkin, was initially arrested along with another woman after the two had an altercation in the Crosby city park during the Fourth of July festivities.

Sniatynsky was handcuffed and told she was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. Before she could be placed in a squad car she suffered a possible seizure and was transferred to the Crosby hospital and then airlifted to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, where she died Sunday.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's officer declared Sniatynsky's manner of death natural and the cause of death from anoxic encephalopathy - a degeneration of brain function - due to cardiac arrest.

The medical examiner noted significant conditions for Sniatynsky were a history of seizure disorder and pseudoseizure disorder.
