CROSSLAKE -- An auxiliary of area women has been formed to help the staff and mission of Camp Knutson.
This group will do everything from de-snarling fishing rods to preparing bunk houses between camp sessions to sorting puzzle and game pieces. Fund-raising for equipment that is not in the Camp Knutson budget will be a main thrust of the organization.
The first fund-raising endeavor will be a cabin furnishings sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the main street of Crosslake outside and under tents in the yard forming a triangle of Thanks to Nature, formerly the Bird Feeder on Route 66. Much of the merchandise is brand new, department-store quality in presentation boxes. Prices will be reasonable.
A bake sale and taste and sample table will be included. Coffee and lemonade will be for sale, along with cookies, breads and jams and jellies.
The auxiliary, temporarily named the Camp Knutson Cheerleaders, is open to anyone who wants to help. Call Frances at (218) 543-4940 or Paula at (218) 692-2396 to donate items for the sale or to be part of this group.
