Field Day held at Staples

The Central Lakes Ag Center hosted Showcase 2002 -- Exploring Air, Land & Water at Staples last Thursday, where guests received advice on managing crop diseases, irrigation, tillage, home gardening and agro-forestry. Experts included Jerry Wright of the University of Minnesota Extension Service, who discussed irrigation equipment during one of the wagon tours. A Taste of the Country dinner featured sweet corn and hash brown potatoes from area fields and beef burgers from neighborhood cattle farms.
