One hundred and 15 cars packed the pits Saturday as Justin Aylward, Luke Hines, Shawn Fletcher, Tom Segler, Al Schmidt, and Shawn Wageman recorded feature wins at North Central Motor Speedway.
The Pure Stock and Super Stock August 5 makeup features were first on the program as Kevin Baron led flag to flag to win the Pure Stock A feature over Mike Japp and Monte Hall.
Al Schmidt followed Baron's lead as he picked up the Pure Stock B feature and Sweet held off a charging Dave Mass for the Super Stock feature win.
Justin Aylward and Dan Yaunick battled early for the lead in the Wissota Super Stock feature as Tim Johnson, Dave Mass, and Rick Sweet clustered for third.
A caution with four laps to go tightened the field as Mass and Sweet hooked up on the high side to challenge Aylward and Yaunick on the restart. Contact during the final laps sent Yaunick sideways as Mass and Sweet put the brakes on, allowing Johnson to shoot by on the low side and jump into second. Aylward held off Johnson to take the win as John Remington, Yaunick, and Mass finished in the top five.
Luke Hines and Trevor Stewart paced the field at the drop of the green in the Midwest Modified A feature. Hines grabbed a slight lead during lap two. Chuck Olson seized his opportunity as he passed Stewart for second to lock into a door to door battle with Hines.
Hines remained strong as he held off Olson to pick up a clean sweep. Olson placed second with Stewart in third.
The Brainerd drivers shined early in the Modified B feature as Shawn Fletcher and Gary Walton battled for the lead. Walton fell off the pace during the final laps and Chuck Chesler challenged Fletcher for the lead. But it was Fletcher edging out a victory. Chesler grabbed second as Dave Born placed third.
Polesitter Charlie Peterson opened the Pure Stock A feature with a caution, colliding with the pit entrance concrete. Peterson was fine and Tom Segler took over the lead on the restart followed by Chad Schwegel and Kevin Jones.
A late race caution tightened the field as Schwegel challenged Segler during the final laps. Segler took the checkered with Schwegel and Jones finishing two and three.
Al Schmidt grabbed the lead from Kelly Wroolie early in the Pure Stock B feature to take home a victory as Wroolie placed second with Dustin Lof was third.
The Wissota Street Stock feature went non-stop as Shawn Wageman dominated the field, leading every lap, to take a half-track lead across the finish line.
The only caution came on the final turn as points leader John Treichler and Donnie Jensen tangled. Don Willard, Tim Vien, Brad Jensen, and Curt Plante rounded out the top five.
