ST. CLOUD -- Viola M. Vinton, 74, St. Cloud, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at St. Joseph's Medical Center of Brainerd.
She was born May 22, 1926, in Clear Lake to Joe and Tillie (Gapinski) Landowski. She married Donald Vinton on Oct. 9, 1949, in St. Cloud. She worked for 30 years as a head cook for Westwood Elementary School of St. Cloud. She taught nutrition and cooking classes for the St. Cloud School District 742 Community Education. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of St. Cloud and a member of Ducks Unlimited.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Vinton, St. Cloud; a son, Glen Vinton, Winona; a daughter, Donna Klimek, Pillager; six grandchildren; four brothers, Richard Landowski, Coon Rapids, Albert Landowski, Prior Lake, Leo Landowski, Fond Du Lac, Wis., and Ben Landowski, Clear Lake; and a sister, Josephine Pierson, Aitkin.
Her parents, and two brothers, Pete Landowski and Severn Landowski, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of St. Cloud. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery of Little Falls.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Benson Funeral Home of St. Cloud and an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
