Motorcycle rider course scheduled in Brainerd

Central Lakes College in Brainerd has scheduled a Basic Rider Course for motorcyclists Sept. 10, 12 and 13.

While no previous motorcycle riding experience is required, it can be beneficial. Students must be able to ride a bicycle and must possess a valid driver's license or motor vehicle instruction permit.

CLC recommends riders have a permit when signing up for this class, noting it is to a rider's benefit.

Each student must furnish his or her own protective clothing and Department of Transportation-approved helmet and 100 percent attendance is mandatory. The fee is $160.

Dates and times are 5:30-10 p.m. Sept. 10 and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. or 2-7 p.m. Sept. 12 and 13. Payment is required at the time of registration. Registration deadline is Sept. 3.
