LaCrosse-over to everything Lexus
Fighter pilots call it "target fixation" when you become so focused on a single adversary that you lose situational awareness and fly into something large and obvious, like the ground. Buick's 2010 LaCrosse - a near-luxury, mid-size-to-large sedan - was built to put the cross-hairs on a single bogie, the Lexus ES350, and I'll tell you right now, it blows the Lexus out of the sky. Pow. Parachute. Smoking crater.

Plus, the cleanup is a breeze because you just toss out the foil pans. I like to serve this meatloaf with Roasted Veggies also made on the grill.

OUR OPINION: SAFE DRIVING
Sending text messages while driving may not be the dumbest activity one can engage in but it's right up there. And we didn't need a taxpayer-funded study to reach that conclusion.

Boy, have we got money. Too bad you don't. Today, Aug. 7, 2009, our illustrious congressmen approved $550 million attached to an appropriations bill. This, for the purchase for eight jet aircraft for their personal use. But what it is only a half billion when we're spending trillions, so no big deal.

OTHER OPINION: BICYCLING
Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race. So said H.G. Wells, nearly a century ago.

It's pretty simple, people. Do what a police officer asks of you. You decide to resist under a lawful arrest, the officer has the right to use whatever force necessary to make that arrest. I know officers usually go by the followin: They ask politely(you don't follow); they tell you, (you still don't follow); they make you. I don't expect our officers to sit and debate on the street. They asked politely once at the beginning and you forced the hand of the officer's use of force decision based on your actions alone.
