SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Darral Harris Mischke of Sioux Falls, S.D., passed away on Aug. 16, 2007, at Sanford Health Center.
Darral was born to Henry and Anna Mischke at Westbrook, Minn., on Feb. 12, 1930. He was united in marriage to Carol Jean Stevens on July 15, 1951, at First Lutheran Church in Pipestone, Minn. To this union were born two children: a son, Larry, and a daughter, Lori. Darral served our country in the Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953 as a staff sergeant. He then enrolled in business college and later the University of Minnesota. He was employed in Faribault, Minn., and Brainerd, Minn., as a medical clinic administrator. He and his wife, Carol, retired in 1994 in the Brainerd lakes area. In 1999 they moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., to be closer to their daughter, Lori, and her family. On Aug. 9 he entered Sanford Health where he passed away on Aug. 16.
Happy to have shared his life for 56 years of marriage, he is survived by his wife Carol; his children, Larry Mischke of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lori Seykora (husband Pat) of Canton, S.D.; four grandsons, Adam Mischke of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jason Seykora (wife Amanda) of Sioux Falls, S.D., Aaron Mischke of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jeremy Seykora (wife Whitney) of Harrisburg, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Anna Mischke.
Cremation arrangements were made by Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A memorial service will he held at Springdale Lutheran Church, 26946 480th Ave., Sioux Falls, S.D., on Monday, Aug. 20, at 1 p.m., with a private family burial at Springdale Cemetery.
