AITKIN -- Home Stretch, a first-time homebuyer education class, is set Sept. 13, 20 and 27 in Aitkin.
The three night workshop gives first-time homebuyers insight on the mortgage approval process, budget and credit issues, real estate, closing procedures, basic home maintenance and affordable lending products that may apply.
Classes are set from 6-9 p.m. at the Aitkin High School.
Home Stretch is coordinated by the Central Minnesota Housing Partnership, a nonprofit organization providing affordable housing services to central Minnesota. Those who complete the class receive a Home Stretch certificate which may be helpful with housing programs and mortgage products. There is a $25 fee per household and registration is required.
