Schramm to play at St. Scholastica

Pequot Lakes High School graduate Luke Schramm has made a verbal commitment to play basketball for St. Scholastica in Duluth this season.

Area master swimmers compete

Chuck Nielson of Nisswa, Jane Hansen of Deerwood and Pete Johnson of Brainerd competed in the U.S. masters national swim meet Aug. 13-17 in Piscataway, N.J.

Nielson placed fifth in his age group in the 50-meter butterfly and fourth in the 100 butterfly.

Hansen and Johnson both won their age groups in the Minnetonka 5-mile open water challenge Aug. 16.

Crosby soccer meeting Thursday

A soccer information/registration meeting, for parents of children in grades K-6, is scheduled 6 p.m. Thursday at the Hallett Community Center in Crosby.
