Permanent hunting stands

If it is truly public land, why would anyone think they can use the trees for a private purpose? Would the hunter allow me to build a clubhouse under his or her public tree? That makes no sense at all. Ban all permanent stands and clubhouses.

Same sex marriages

I just noticed the "My 2 cents" online poll on The Dispatch's Web site about same-sex marriages. How sad. The overwhelming majority voted they would not approve of same-sex marriages. I ask those who oppose such unions, what does it matter to you? Are the people getting married ... in your backyard or asking you to be involved? ... Not likely. Why spend so much time and energy disapproving of someone else's private life?... I write this as a person in a traditional marriage. ... I don't have the time or the need to spend my time being judgmental of others.

With 1,258 people responding as of this morning, 71 percent said they were against same-sex marriages, 27 percent said they would approve of allowing the marriage of two individuals of the same sex and 2 percent were unsure.
