A low pressure system exiting the Northeast was expected to produce a few rain showers across New England and northern Mid-Atlantic early Saturday.
Scattered showers and potentially severe thunderstorms were possible across South Carolina, southern Georgia, Florida, southern Alabama, and southern Mississippi, mainly during the afternoon hours, along a surface front running through the lower Mid-Atlantic and the Deep South.
Farther west, an upper level disturbance moving into the Midwest and central Plains was expected to produce afternoon showers and severe thunderstorms.
