Brainerd's "A" team yesterday is on the Northern League Ladies Golf Championship at Brainerd Golf and Country Club. The team was Arla Bollig, Sandy O'Day, Phyllis Dunlap and Edie Ramp.

A large crowd of residents from the Pine Beach Road and Barbeau Road areas turned out last night to protest the granting of a Conditional Use Permit for Tent City by the Crow Wing County Planning Commission.
40 years ago (1960)
Work started on 150 refrigerator cars at the Northern Pacific Shops. Five men were recalled to work and additional men may be added later. The shops also have an order for 500 box cars which will be built when the refrigerator cars are completed.
60 years ago (1940)
Even dogs read The Daily Dispatch, or so believes Ray Wulfe, 1420 Portland Avenue. Wulfe's pet bulldog wandered from home and the best means the owner could think of to find him was a Dispatch advertisement. No sooner had the copy containing the lost ad been delivered in Southeast Brainerd than the canine returned home.
