Jeremy Paul Langer, age 33, resident of Brainerd, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009. Jeremy was born on July 6, 1976, in Brainerd to Michael and Peggy (Stearns) Langer.

He graduated from Brainerd High School and attended Central Lakes College and Minnesota State University at Moorhead.
In high school Jeremy was active in band and choir. He traveled to Austria and Canada with the music groups. Jeremy enjoyed sports and participated in football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, track and skiing. He was an active member of St. Francis Youth Group and had the opportunity to visit Denver for World Youth Day. Through all these activities Jeremy met many people who have remained lifelong friends. His sense of humor and quick wit were treasured by all who knew him.
After a 1995 diving accident left him paralyzed, Jeremy had many challenges and showed incredible courage, perseverance and bravery over and over again. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Jeremy also continued to enjoy following his favorite sports teams, including the Minnesota Gophers, Vikings, Twins and beloved Cubbies.
He is survived by his parents; sister, Christin (Jim) Stegenga; brother, John (Charity); and nieces, Daphne Langer, Leila Langer, Jenna Stegenga; and nephew, Gabriel Langer; aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends and longtime caregivers Linda Wongstrom and Eric Pratt also survive him.
His grandparents, Robert and Olive Stearns and John and Evelyn Langer, precede him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Tony Wroblewski officiating. Burial will be in Baxter City Cemetery. Visitation times will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
