Family: Wife, Sandra; four adult children; and five grandchildren with the oldest one who is done with college and the youngest one who is age 5.
Greatest extravagance: "Food. I love food. My favorite dishes are the traditional meals, like pork roast and mashed potatoes."
Dish you cook/crowd pleaser: "Salmon patties with creamed peas and mashed potatoes."
Volunteer work: Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, the food shelf and the Interfaith Hospitality Network in Brainerd.
A saying you say a lot: "Just one more thing."
Precautions you take in life: "I'm careful with how I walk for fear out of dislocating my hip. I've had an artificial hip for three years and I worry about breaking it."
If you die and you could come back as a person or thing what would it be: "A black Lab."
Hobbies: Yard work and gardening.
