Pit stop for a hometown hero

The U.S. Army racing team and Top Fuel driver Tony Schumacher honored hometown hero Staff Sgt. Shane Hill on Saturday in a ceremony at the Army's hospitality tent at Brainerd International Raceway during the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals.

Hill graduated from Bug-o-nay-ge-shig High School in Cass Lake and received bronze stars for Valor and Service during his Iraq deployments. He is currently stationed in Bismarck, N.D.

After helping out Friday at the Strength in Action Zone at the track, Hill was looking forward to being at the track as this was his first time at the races.
